The Environmental Club are keen worm farmers using ‘Red Wrigglers' to recycle school waste ie; fruit, vegetables and paper. Our worms have been encouraged to grow and multiply, producing a wonderful product called worm castings or worm poo, a rich and concentrated natural fertilizer. Organic castings contain rich proportions of water-soluble nutrients. Worm castings allow plants to quickly and easily absorb all essential nutrients and trace elements in simple forms, so plants need only minimal effort to obtain them. This is not the case with most other fertilizers.

Worm castings also contain many worm eggs, ready to hatch when buried into garden beds, maintaining the cycle of fertilization.
